🍂 Everyday Mandarin in Little Moments

Mandarin learning doesn’t need to happen during a formal lesson. Children can practise language while tidying up, helping someone, playing a game, getting ready for Halloween or talking about something they have done.
This October, we’ll turn these familiar moments into Mandarin through four simple games that encourage children to take action, help others, use their imagination and reflect on what they’ve learnt.
For younger children, that might mean learning a word or responding to a simple instruction. For older children, we’ll go a step further by describing what they are doing, explaining their ideas and reflecting in more complete sentences.
We’ll use Daily Family Life as our Mandarin inspiration.
🚸 Week 1: Little Helpers
Everyday responsibilities provide a natural opportunity to practise Mandarin. Whether your child is putting away toys, helping with dinner or getting their things ready, turn the moments into simple language games.

🍂 A Final Note for October
This month, we’re bringing Mandarin into the Everyday Moments that make up family life.
A tidy-up can become a chance to practise instructions. Helping someone can introduce language for kindness. A Halloween game can spark imagination. And looking back at the month can help children recognise how much they are learning.
There’s no need to add another lesson to your day.
Instead, look for the Mandarin Moments that are already there.
Little by little, Everyday Moments become opportunities to listen, speak, play, and grow in Mandarin.
