Mandarin EXPLORER Programs
This LEARN and APPLY! method ensures a strong foundational understanding while fostering engagement and practical language acquisition through interactive games, activities and consistent practice.
Level 1 - ESSENTIAL Mandarin EXPLORER
[1.5hr per session/week]

Focus LEARN Pinyin and essential Mandarin characters. APPLY learning through interactive games, stories and fun activities designed for young learners. Early exposure to recognising simple characters.

Key Benefits ESSENTIAL Mandarin builds a strong pronunciation foundation and early recognition of written Mandarin. This fosters confidence in basic and practical communication.
Level 2 – EMERGING Mandarin EXPLORER
[1.5hr per session/week]

Focus LEARN. Building upon foundational knowledge by revising pinyin, enhancing reading skills (with pinyin support), introducing radicals and developing writing and comprehension abilities. A strong emphasis is placed on cultivating conversational skills. APPLY through STEM, Character-building and Story/Food Craft activities.

Key Benefits EMERGING Mandarin strengthens basic Chinese, builds practical reading and writing skills, improves conversational understanding and offers engaging, diverse activities (STEM, character-building, stories, food) for interactive and real world learning.
EMERGING Mandarin EXPLORER builds on the foundation of the ESSENTIAL Mandarin EXPLORER or equivalent.
Levels 3 & 4 - DEVELOPING Mandarin

Focus LEARN. Developing more advanced Chinese language skills, including reading (with and without pinyin support), deeper comprehension, and enhanced conversational abilities, alongside continued writing practice. APPLY through STEM, Character-building and Story/Food Craft activities.

Key Benefits DEVELOPING Mandarin boosts reading fluency and independence, deepens language understanding, further improves conversational skills and uses engaging STEM, character-building, and creative activities to reinforce learning.
Requires EMERGING Mandarin EXPLORER or a strong intermediate level.
